Description
Vine and Bars edge. An all-time classic from the first year of coinage operations at the newly structured Philadelphia Mint. Deep chocolate-brown surfaces verge on black in places. All devices present and accounted for, though some are weakened slightly by uniform microgranularity. When large cent cabinets are judged, the first thing looked for is the Chain cent of 1793. While not the finest example of the issue you’ll ever see, it has enough “meat” and innate quality to bring out the best in our bidders. More than just a “filler.”
