Description
Genuine — Environmental Damage. Chocolate-brown surfaces offer bold devices for the grade. The “environmental damage” is nothing more than some peckishness on the surfaces. No heavy marks are noted, and the in-hand quality is substantial. A must for any advanced type set collector, owing to the left-facing portrait of Lady Liberty; this is the only time she appears this way in the early copper series of half cents. Liberty won’t face left again until the 1809 Classic Head issue. The famous “Little Half Sister” from the first days of operations at the newly established Philadelphia Mint.
