Medium silver-gray with deep golden highlights throughout. Discovered in 1942 by sharp-eyed NYC Subway clerks, who routinely swapped a “normal” dime for these whenever they encountered them, and then reselling them to coin dealers and collectors of the era for a nominal profit.
