Description
Circa 1968. .998 Fineness. 107.16 Ounces silver. These bars were made by the treasury of melted down silver coins which were exchanged for silver certificates. They were so busy making them that at one point they stopped stamping the bars and only wrote the weight in grease pen -hence the name. This bar has some info stamped as well as the grease pen weight. Not pretty, but it doesn’t have to be.
