Silver. Obv: Washington with natus and obit dates, dies by Merriam, holed at top. Back engraved “John Janes / Salem, Mass. / 50th Reg. Co. A / M.V.M. (Massachusetts Volunteer Militia) in fancy Spencerian script. A nice job; these are usually hand-stamped with block lettering. This personally engraved piece is a rare and important bit of Civil War memorabilia that will attract knowledgeable bidders for certain.
